Cabbage White
created by

The Cabbage White (Pieris rapae) is a one of our Whites found throughout the United States. It was probably brought over from Europe within plants and has established itself very well here. The females (seen here) lay their eggs on mustards and garden-variety vegetable plants. At times the caterpillars may appear to be a pest. But when you see such beautiful adults,
it is hard to be upset with them. Especially since they will be around your garden.------------------------------ Michael Klein
